A Sample Lesson Plan

Generally, this is representative lesson plan consisting of key components. It should be noted that it is essential
that topic, mastery objectives, and instructional sequence are consistent with the MCPS standards and goals. A number
of instuctional factors may influence the implementation of the lesson plan. These may include the selected instructional
model, lesson's focus, lesson's activity, etc. At any rate, the evaluation component must remain a critical part of the
lesson plan.

Sample Unit Overview

At the beginning of every unit, I develop the whole unit based on the MCPS-approved curriculum. While Montgomery
County provides an overall curriculum and set of expectations, as a teacher, I decide the sequence of teaching events. In
this document, I demonstrate my ability to organize information in a logical sequence. I also plan in advance the homework
assignments and quizzes that I will assign. It should be added that, as the unit progresses, it is extermely rewarding to
revisit, re-evaluate, adjust, or modify my unit plan for desired improvement.
